Worship Round Up

Wednesday 24th July 2024

Our weekly round-up aims to support our parents in the conversations that they are having at home with their children. Each week, we will share the themes of each of our worships and any resources that we have been using, such as: videos, books and music, to allow our parents to access these if they wish to. Our weekly worship is structured in the following way:

  • Monday Worship Focus: Values Focus led by Mrs Evans who revisits one of our core values — Commitment, Courage and Love.
  • Tuesday Worship Focus: ‘Earth Heroes’ led by class teachers;
  • Wednesday Worship Focus: ‘What’s happening in the world this week?’ led by Mrs Griffin and focusing on key events that are taking place in the world currently;
  • Thursday Worship Focus: Singing led by Mrs Walker;
  • Friday Worship Focus: Celebration led by a member of the senior leadership team to celebrate the team points winners for the week and achievements from both inside and outside school with the pupils.

Monday's Worship

This morning we considered how we make time for the important things. We  reflected on how busy life can get with work, challenges we sometimes face and with wanting to spend time with friends and family. We filled a jar with things that represent what makes us busy. The jar looked too full to hold anything else! We reflected on how God always has time for us even when we feel we might not have time for him. This was demonstrated by filling the jar with water. There is always time and room for God. Genesis 28v15: I am with you and watch over you wherever you go.

Wednesday's Worship

On Wednesday, we celebrated our Year 6 Leavers. We began with a blessing service in the church led by Reverend Nicholas Lebey who gave a talk that focused on Joshua 1v9: Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” in preparation for the children's transition to secondary school. We then returned to the school for the Leavers' Assembly where the children shared some of their favourite memories from their time at St Paul's and we had a chance to say our goodbyes. We are so incredibly proud of them all and are looking forward to hearing about how they are getting on in Year 7.
