Worship Round Up
Friday 7th February 2025
Our weekly round-up aims to support our parents in the conversations that they are having at home with their children. Each week, we will share the themes of each of our worships and any resources that we have been using, such as: videos, books and music, to allow our parents to access these if they wish to. Our weekly worship is structured in the following way:
- Monday Worship Focus: Values Focus led by Mrs Evans who revisits one of our core values — Commitment, Courage and Love.
- Tuesday Worship Focus: 'Women in STEM’ led by class teachers using 'Great Women who Worked Wonders' by Kate Pankhurst;
- Wednesday Worship Focus: ‘What’s happening in the world this week?’ led by Mrs Griffin and focusing on key events that are taking place in the world currently;
- Thursday Worship Focus: Singing led by Mrs Walker;
- Friday Worship Focus: Celebration led by Mrs Gnanasri to celebrate the team points winners for the week and achievements from both inside and outside school with the pupils.
Monday's Worship
Children's Mental Health Week Launch
In worship on Monday, Mrs Griffin introduced the these for Children mental health week which is; 'Know yourself to Grow yourself'. we considered the importance of understanding all of our emotions and made reference to the inside out films. we shared our likes and dislikes for things and the emotions these can provoke. We then read the 'Have you filled a bucket today?' book. We talked about our theme this week on focussing on having kindness towards one another and how this can become a widespread feeling. We want a school where kindness is what we share with one another.
Tuesday's Worship
In worship on Tuesday, the Positive Relationship Prefects continued with our theme and they shared ideas that we could use for acts of kindness towards one another. They also introduces the 'Bucket Filler certificates'. We are taught in the Bible to love one another as God loves us. Jesus is our example and we considered how can follow in this example.
Wednesday's Worship
On Tuesday we looked at Maria Sibylla Merian who was an entomologist. We learn about how she was also an illustrator and then travelled the world to find out about different insects. We considered how her doing this could benefit others through sharing her knowledge. We thought about the challenges she faced due to being a woman but did not let this stop her from achieving her goals. We looked at how she showed our school values through her choices and what we could do to be like her.
Thursday's Worship
This week, we began our worship by singing along to two of Bob Marley's songs with positive messages. Today would have been Bob Marley's 80th birthday. We then revisited some of our favourite worship songs:

Friday's Worship
During Friday's worship, we shared the team points winners for the week - Year 4 for the class winners and Rubies for the team points - awarded the 'hot chocolate awards' given for demonstrating love in our actions and celebrated some of our pupils' achievements from outside of school including sporting achievements. We started discussing how we can also earn our bronze SPARK book award soon! This term, we are reflecting on the importance of being aware of the impact we can have on one another in the school. We had some beautiful reflections on how we can already get involved in the SPARK book awards with our poetry competition. We also discussed how we could fill each other's buckets ; we looked at the idea of mutualism in animals. We then thought about how we do not have to be friends with someone to fill their bucket or even know them or even be similar to someone to fill their buckets. We reflected on how we can use our own skills to lift others in our classrooms.
