Worship Round Up
Friday 6th September 2024
Our weekly round-up aims to support our parents in the conversations that they are having at home with their children. Each week, we will share the themes of each of our worships and any resources that we have been using, such as: videos, books and music, to allow our parents to access these if they wish to. Our weekly worship is structured in the following way:
- Monday Worship Focus: Values Focus led by Mrs Evans who revisits one of our core values — Commitment, Courage and Love.
- Tuesday Worship Focus: ‘Earth Heroes’ led by class teachers;
- Wednesday Worship Focus: ‘What’s happening in the world this week?’ led by Mrs Griffin and focusing on key events that are taking place in the world currently;
- Thursday Worship Focus: Singing led by Mrs Walker;
- Friday Worship Focus: Celebration led by a member of the senior leadership team to celebrate the team points winners for the week and achievements from both inside and outside school with the pupils.
Wednesday's Worship
In worship on Wednesday, we reflected on Galatians 6:2, "Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfil the law of Christ." We talked about the word 'community' and what it means to us. We talked about helping one another, celebrating differences, making one another feel welcome and working together. This led on to us talking about our School Development Plan and the things that we as a school community are going to focus on developing this year. Here is our visual SDP which shows you our priorities for the year ahead:
It was wonderful to be back in worship together - we closed worship with 'Our God is a Great Big God' and with prayers led by pupils.
Thursday's Worship
Singing
During singing worship this week, we loved coming back together as a school community to sing some of our favourite worship songs. This week's songs were chosen by the children in Year 6:

Friday's Worship
During Friday's worship, we shared the team points winners for the week - Year 6 for the class winners and Diamonds for the team points. As we are at the beginning of the term, we reflected on what we are already proud of and the small things we need to work on to be the best version of yourself. We also considered how important it is to try something even when we find it tricky or have never tried something before. We reflected on how the following quote applies to us in school - 'The biggest failure is making the mistake of never trying'. We then reflected on how we can draw strength from our faith or values by looking at this bible quote from Phillipians 4:13 : I can do all things through Christ who strengthens.
