Worship Round Up

Friday 6th March 2026

Our weekly round-up aims to support our parents in the conversations that they are having at home with their children. Each week, we will share the themes of each of our worships and any resources that we have been using, such as: videos, books and music, to allow our parents to access these if they wish to. Our weekly worship is structured in the following way: 

• Mondays: Values worship led by Mrs Evans where each week we focus on a different school value (Commitment; Courage; Love) as a theme linking these to bible stories, quotes and our positive learning behaviours.

• Tuesdays: These worships are led by Reverend Jen Houghton and will focus on the theme of men and women of Faith along with worships relating to the Church calendar.

• Wednesdays: These worships are led by Mrs Griffin and respond to world events and days of significance in order that we are recognising God’s presence and power in our world today.

• Thursdays: Singing Assembly led by Mrs Walker.

• Fridays: Celebration Worship led by class teachers. Children are rewarded for upholding our school values during the week, class and team winners are announced and a thought or reflection for the week is shared.

Monday's Worship

During Monday's worship we reflected on the message from Colosians 3:23: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." We considered why it can feel harder to do the right thing if there is no-one there watching us, praising or rewarding us for our actions and the fact that we should do these for the internal rewards of knowing that we are doing the right thing. We listened to a story about Ling and the Emperor and the test that would set by the Emperor to determine who would do the right thing even when no-one was watching - who would show 'integrity'.  We talked about our 'secret superpower' of having a heart that knows what is good and right and we challenged the children to carry out 'invisible good deeds' this week - things that may not be seen by others but that we know the positive value of.  

Tuesday's Worship

On Tuesday, Jen spoke to us about trust. She read the story of Rahab and spoke about how the Israelites had to trust a Gentile. We learnt about how the two people were not friends and so the Israelites had to show great trust in a Gentile to keep them safe from others. Jen had us practice showing our trust by balancing on one leg and leaning on people nearby, this showed how when we trust on others it keeps us sturdy. We finished by singing 'Everywhere Around Me'. 

Wednesday's Worship

On Wednesday the peer mentors led us in reflecting on two further habits. We looked out what it is the to kind to someone and listened to the parable of the Good Samaritan. Luke 10:37: "The expert in the law replied, 'The one who had mercy on him.' Jesus told him, 'Go and do likewise"

We then went on to reflect on undertaking our emotions and used the the short clip from the characters of Inside Out. The peer mentors challenged us to notice this week how we show kindness to everyone not just friends and how we check in with our emotions daily using the zones of regulation.

Thursday's Worship

This week in Singing Worship, while KS2 were listening to a visiting author, KS1 practised three songs that help to explain the Easter story:

Friday's Worship

In Friday's worship, we celebrated the team points winners for the week: Sapphires and Year 3. We also gave out our hot chocolate awards. We thought carefully about how we have acted on what we learnt from Monday's worship about always doing the right thing even when no one is watching and even when we might not get a reward using these reflection questions; 

What ‘invisible’ good deeds have you done this week? 

How did doing those good deeds make you feel? 

Do you always need a reward or recognition for doing a kind thing? Why?
