Worship Round Up

Friday 5th September 2025

Our weekly round-up aims to support our parents in the conversations that they are having at home with their children. Each week, we will share the themes of each of our worships and any resources that we have been using, such as: videos, books and music, to allow our parents to access these if they wish to. Our weekly worship is structured in the following way: 

• Mondays: Values worship led by Mrs Evans where each week we focus on a different school value (Commitment; Courage; Love) as a theme linking these to bible stories, quotes and our positive learning behaviours.

• Tuesdays: Themed worships led by class teachers. The theme for this term is: ‘Ordinary Kids with Extraordinary Stories’ using the book ‘Rise Up’. Worship will focus on ‘Resilience and the message of Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ because he gives me strength.”

• Wednesdays: These worships are led by Mrs Griffin and respond to world events and days of significance in order that we are recognising God’s presence and power in our world today.

• Thursdays: Singing Assembly led by Mrs Walker.

• Fridays: Celebration Worship led by Mrs Evans. Children are rewarded for upholding our school values during the week, class and team winners are announced and a thought or reflection for the week is shared.

Wednesday's Worship

During our welcome back worship we focused on the two verses from the Bible shown above: 1 John 3:18 and Ephesians 6v6. We talked about the importance of doing the right thing even when no one is there to say well done, reward you, or you think that no one will know - in the presence of God. We revisited our values - Commitment, Courage and Love - and considered the actions that we will/will not do in order to demonstrate these. We have used these as the basis of our 'Code of Conduct' which is now displayed around our school and will be reflecting on our choices at various point during this term. We closed worship with prayers led by two of the children and singing 'My Lighthouse'.

Friday's Worship

During Friday's worship, we celebrated the team points winnners for the first week: Rubies and Year 5. We then reflected on the message from 1 Corinthians 12:12: "Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ," and read 'The Big Umbrella'. We considered how we can be like the Big Umbrella and the lessons that the Big Umbrella can teach us. We talked about smiling to show welcome and warmth, including all and celebrating the diversity and difference within our community. We closed worship by reflecting on something that we have done this week when no one was watching - not for reward but because we were trying our best to just do the right thing. We closed worship with prayers led by two of the children and listened to 'the Blessing'.
