Worship Round Up

Friday 5th June 2026

Our weekly round-up aims to support our parents in the conversations that they are having at home with their children. Each week, we will share the themes of each of our worships and any resources that we have been using, such as: videos, books and music, to allow our parents to access these if they wish to. Our weekly worship is structured in the following way:

Mondays: Values worship led by Mrs Evans where each week we focus on a different school value (Commitment; Courage; Love) as a theme linking these to bible stories, quotes and our positive learning behaviours.
Tuesdays: These worships are led by Reverend Jen Houghton and will focus on the theme of ‘What God is like and what God’s kingdom is like’.
Wednesdays: These worships are led by Mrs Griffin and respond to world events and days of significance in order that we are recognising God’s presence and power in our world today.
Thursdays: Singing Assembly led by Mrs Walker.
Fridays: Celebration Worship led by class teachers. Children are rewarded for upholding our school values during the week, class and team winners are announced and a thought or reflection for the week is shared.

Tuesday's Worship

In Tuesday's worship with Jen we learned the song 'Faith as small as a mustard seed' and discussed how even the smallest bit of faith can grow into something impressive. We talked about how tiny actions can have a big impact and that every small act of kindness we do can change the world.

"For if you had faith even as small as a tiny mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, 'Move!' and it would go far away. Nothing would be impossible." Matthew 17 v 20.

Wednesday's Worship

On Wednesday, the faith reps led our Collective Worship, introducing the thought-provoking theme: spirituality. Together, we explored how spirituality is a personal journey, a search for meaning, purpose, and a deeper connection to something larger than ourselves. We discovered that a big part of spirituality involves asking "big questions," the kind of deep, wondering questions that don't always have easy answers. We then brought this curiosity back to our classrooms, where we have been writing down our own big questions in our class spiritual journals. We have continued to reflect, wonder, and listen to one another's ideas as we explore these deep concepts together.

Thursday's Worship

This week in singing worship, we sang:
Light of the World (Here I am to worship)
My Jesus, my Saviour
Lord of the Dance
The Wiggly Waggly Song - and had fun inventing actions for all the different animals mentioned in the song, and thanking God for making us exactly as we are.

Friday's Worship

In Friday's worship, we celebrated the team points winners for the week: Rubies and Year 6. We also gave out our hot chocolate awards. We explored the theme of spirituality through the lens of awe and wonder. Together, we reflected on the "big questions" we gathered on Wednesday, with children from each year group stepping up to the front to read the different questions that were asked from different year groups. It was very interesting! We closed our time together with a beautiful prayer, asking that we all keep our minds curious and never stop seeking answers to life's big questions.
