Worship Round Up
Friday 26th June 2026
Our weekly round-up aims to support our parents in the conversations that they are having at home with their children. Each week, we will share the themes of each of our worships and any resources that we have been using, such as: videos, books and music, to allow our parents to access these if they wish to. Our weekly worship is structured in the following way:

Mondays: Values worship led by Mrs Evans where each week we focus on a different school value (Commitment; Courage; Love) as a theme linking these to bible stories, quotes and our positive learning behaviours.

Tuesdays: These worships are led by Reverend Jen Houghton and will focus on the theme of ‘What God is like and what God’s kingdom is like’.

Wednesdays: These worships are led by Mrs Griffin and respond to world events and days of significance in order that we are recognising God’s presence and power in our world today.

Thursdays: Singing Assembly led by Mrs Walker.

Fridays: Celebration Worship led by class teachers. Children are rewarded for upholding our school values during the week, class and team winners are announced and a thought or reflection for the week is shared.
Monday's Worship
In Monday's worship, we thought about how much each of us 'counts' in the world. We heard about the national census taking place in India and considered the following:
- Why is it important to know how many people live in a community?
- What might happen if a whole town or group of people was completely forgotten or left uncounted?
We read Numbers 1:1-2: "The Lord spoke to Moses in the tent of meeting in the Desert of Sinai on the first day of the second month of the second year after the Israelites came out of Egypt. He said: 2 “Take a census of the whole Israelite community by their clans and families, listing every man by name, one by one." and reflected on the fact that God didn't just want a grand total number of people, he wanted them listed by name. In God's eyes, we are not just a number in a school register or a face in a crowd - we are known by name.
We then considered how it feels when someone remembers our name, says a really warm 'hello' to us and how our name can make us feel included. The Bible reminds us the importance of building a safe, fair, and welcoming world where every member is valued and we show mutual respect for one another.
Tuesday & Wednesday's Worship
On Tuesday and Wednesday, we had a great time practising a whole mix of our favourite assembly songs together. Along with all the singing, each class took time out of their day to say prayers, creating a lovely, peaceful space for everyone to reflect and give thanks.
Thursday's Worship
This week, the children sang in their classrooms. Classes could choose from our ever-expanding bank of contemporary and traditional songs. It was lovely to hear "Lord of the Dance", "Together" and "This is Our God", among others, floating along the corridor at different times throughout the week!
Friday's Worship
In Friday's worship, we celebrated the team points winners for the week: Year 2 and Diamonds. We then looked back to Monday’s worship to deepen our reflection. We revisited the concept that our name is a special part of our identity that belongs uniquely to us. We reflected on how God knows each of us individually by name and explored how being addressed by name makes us feel valued, known, and respected. We then closed worship with a prayer.
