Worship Round Up

Friday 24th October 2025

Our weekly round-up aims to support our parents in the conversations that they are having at home with their children. Each week, we will share the themes of each of our worships and any resources that we have been using, such as: videos, books and music, to allow our parents to access these if they wish to. Our weekly worship is structured in the following way:

Mondays: Values worship led by Mrs Evans where each week we focus on a different school value (Commitment; Courage; Love) as a theme linking these to bible stories, quotes and our positive learning behaviours.
Tuesdays: Themed worships led by class teachers. The theme for this term is: ‘Ordinary Kids with Extraordinary Stories’ using the book ‘Rise Up’. Worship will focus on ‘Resilience and the message of Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ because he gives me strength.”
Wednesdays: These worships are led by Mrs Griffin and respond to world events and days of significance in order that we are recognising God’s presence and power in our world today.
Thursdays: Singing Assembly led by Mrs Walker.
Fridays: Celebration Worship led by Mrs Evans. Children are rewarded for upholding our school values during the week, class and team winners are announced and a thought or reflection for the week is shared.

Monday's Worship

In worship on Monday, we watched a video about diversity: Diversity Video and considered what this word means to us. We then reflected on the following questions: "Have you ever left someone out because you thought they like different things to you?"; "Have you ever pointed out something that is different to you about someone else?"; "Have you ever made the effort to ask someone new something about themselves to get to know them?" We then worked with our talk partners and considered how we celebrate this within our community: "What do we do to welcome new people?"; "How do we celebrate differences in our community?"; "Is there anything that we could do better?". We ended our worship with TSP prayers: Thank you for...., Sorry for...., Please help us....

Tuesday's Worship

On Tuesday we learnt about a man named Rain, who at a 18, lost his mother. He grew up with a poor family but that did not stop Rain from living his dream of becoming a K-pop star! He auditioned for many companies and got declined but still kept practicing everyday. We spoke about what types of things we have done that have failed but we have tried again. Eventually Rain was signed with an agent and he has now released 7 albums! An great example of our school values: Commitment, Courage and Love.

Wednesday's Worship

During Wednesday’s worship, we explored the idea of inclusion, what it means and why it matters. We talked about how we can make sure everyone feels included, the challenges that sometimes make this difficult and the fears that can hold us back. Together, we reflected on the ways we can welcome and include people who are different from us.

Thursday's Worship

This week, we began our worship with a brilliant performance from our five children who learn the violin, playing a piece called 'Chilling'.

We sang 'City on a Hill' and continued preparations for our Christmas performances. We sang:
We Saw Three Ships
Sing We Now of Christmas
Somewhere in my Memory.
As we left worship, we listened to an acapella performance of 'In the Bleak Midwinter'.

Friday's Worship

In Friday's worship, we celebrated the team points winners for the week: Sapphires and Year 4 and the team points winners for this half-term: Rubies! We also gave out our hot chocolate awards, celebrated achievements from outside school and looked at the lastest entries to the Good News book! We then listened to the story "All People Are Beautiful" by Vincent Kelly: Story Retelling. We then focused on these pages

We worked with our talk partners to consider times during this week when we have done one or two of these things while at school. We closed worship with prayers led by Eloise, Saira and Michael-Roy and by singing 'Our God is a Great Big God'.
