Worship Round Up

Friday 24th April 2026

Our weekly round-up aims to support our parents in the conversations that they are having at home with their children. Each week, we will share the themes of each of our worships and any resources that we have been using, such as: videos, books and music, to allow our parents to access these if they wish to. Our weekly worship is structured in the following way:

  • Mondays: Values worship led by Mrs Evans where each week we focus on a different school value (Commitment; Courage; Love) as a theme linking these to bible stories, quotes and our positive learning behaviours.

  • Tuesdays: These worships are led by Reverend Jen Houghton and will focus on the theme of ‘What God is like and what God’s kingdom is like’.

  • Wednesdays: These worships are led by Mrs Griffin and respond to world events and days of significance in order that we are recognising God’s presence and power in our world today.

  • Thursdays: Singing Assembly led by Mrs Walker.

  • Fridays: Celebration Worship led by class teachers. Children are rewarded for upholding our school values during the week, class and team winners are announced and a thought or reflection for the week is shared.

Monday's Worship

On Monday, worship was full of energy as we officially relaunched the Daily Mile and our participation in the TCS Mini Marathon in Schools! We learned that taking 15 minutes of movement each day is a vital "brain break" that helps us improve our concentration and focus back in the classroom. To celebrate, every class has been set a special challenge: complete 2 miles before May 1st during our daily slots. A huge part of this initiative is learning the value of encouragement; just like professional athletes, we run better when we support those around us. Whether it’s a high-five or words of encouragement, we’ll be pushing each other to reach the finish line together. Let’s get moving!

Tuesday's Worship

On Tuesday, Reverend Jen led our worship where we reflected on God's role as a creator - we considered how we are creative in our daily lives. We watched a potter create a vase and how his hands worked expertly to create something beautiful. We considered that we can create artwork, Lego, buildings and we can even create emotions such as happiness. Jen read us the creation story from Genesis in the Children's Bible and we thought about the diversity, creativity and care that God showed when he created us. We considered how we have the responsibility to be the best version of ourselves and how we can make ourselves a better version. Whilst none of us are perfect, we were created with love and creativity and we can always strive to be better.

Wednesday's Worship

This week, we enjoyed singing:

Lord of the Dance

The Blessing

That's Who I Praise

Everything Around Me

The Lord's My Shepherd

Thursday's Worship

In our collective worship we have been reflecting on belonging and on the life of Stephen Lawrence, whose story continues to shape our understanding of justice and community. His legacy reminds us how vital it is to learn from the mistakes of the past, to recognise where society has fallen short, and to commit ourselves to building a future where everyone is valued and included. We read Micha 6 v8“What does the Lord require of you? To act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.”.... reminding us that we need to come together to ensure fairness and love are there for allWe ended our worship in prayer asking God to help us develop wisdom and understanding for others.

Friday's Worship

In Friday's worship, we celebrated the team points winners for the week: Sapphires and Year 4. We also gave out our hot chocolate awards. We thought back to Monday's worship about supporting others and cheering them on and about how and why that can make a difference. We reflected on how we could use words of encouragement to support someone at school. We also gave some encouragement and support to the members of our community who are running the Mini-Marathon this weekend.
