Worship Round Up

Our weekly round-up aims to support our parents in the conversations that they are having at home with their children. Each week, we will share the themes of each of our worships and any resources that we have been using, such as: videos, books and music, to allow our parents to access these if they wish to. Our weekly worship is structured in the following way: 

• Monday Worship Focus: Values Focus led by Mrs Evans who revisits one of our core values — Commitment, Courage and Love. 
• Tuesday Worship Focus: Themed worships led by class teachers. For this term, staff will be revisiting ‘positive learning behaviours’ that help us to demonstrate our values in action;
• Wednesday Worship Focus: ‘What’s happening in the world this week?’ led by Mrs Griffin and focusing on key events that are taking place in the world currently;
• Thursday Worship Focus: Singing led by Mrs Walker;
• Friday Worship Focus: Celebration led by Mrs Gnanasri to celebrate the team points winners for the week and achievements from both inside and outside school with the pupils.

Monday's  Worship

In Monday's worship, we celebrated the team point winners - Rubies and the class winner for the week - Year 6. We then continued our series of reflections using philosophy for children. We discussed change is good thing and how it changes our perception of people. We reflected on how we can influence each other to change for the better and how we can lift each other up as Jesus modelled to us. 

Tuesday's Worship

On Tuesday, we looked at what the word caring means and how we can care for one another. We discussed whether we need to ask to be cared for or if it should just be done out of kindness. We spoke about how acts of kindness make us feel and how if we show kindness, it could change the way that other people feel. We were set the challenge to see one way we could show kindness in school and one way we could show kindness at home.

Wednesday's Worship

On Wednesday, we celebrated our mini marathon runners and highlighted their commitment to participating in this event. We also had the opportunity to listen to their personal highlights and experiences We took time to thank people for making this possible including all the parents who supported this event. Additionally, we celebrated one of our former St. Paul's pupils and current parent, Mr. Dormer, who completed the London Marathon this year. Mr. Dormer shared his experience and the dedication he invested, making this a truly proud and memorable occasion. 

   

Thursday's Worship

This week, we learned our final song on the theme of Our Beautiful World: 'Save the World Forever'.
We also sang 'Friendship Makes a Beautiful World' and prayed to thank God for our world and all the wonderful things in it.

Friday's Worship

During Friday's worship we celebrated the team points winners for the week - Year 5 and Diamonds - and for this half-term - Diamonds and handed out the hot chocolate awards. We then reflected on the message in Job 12:7-10: “But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind. We considered what it is telling us and the importance of paying attention to the world and nature around us. We then heard about the visit this week by Mrs Evans, Mrs Momp and a small group of children to Chelsea Flower Show to see the Avanade Intelligent Garden. We talked about the way that technology is being used in this garden to monitor and 'talk' to the trees in order to ensure that they flourish. We then watched the Newsround clip which the children took part in: Newsround. We then went back to the Bible passage and thought about how we can put this into action within our school and in our homes. To close worship we listened to 'One World'. eWe
