Worship Round Up
Friday 18th July 2025
Our weekly round-up aims to support our parents in the conversations that they are having at home with their children. Each week, we will share the themes of each of our worships and any resources that we have been using, such as: videos, books and music, to allow our parents to access these if they wish to. Our weekly worship is structured in the following way:
- Monday Worship Focus: Values Focus led by Mrs Evans who revisits one of our core values — Commitment, Courage and Love.
- Tuesday Worship Focus: Themed worships led by class teachers. For this term, staff will be revisiting ‘positive learning behaviours’ that help us to demonstrate our values in action;
- Wednesday Worship Focus: ‘What’s happening in the world this week?’ led by Mrs Griffin and focusing on key events that are taking place in the world currently;
- Thursday Worship Focus: Singing led by Mrs Walker;
- Friday Worship Focus: Celebration led by Mrs Gnanasri to celebrate the team points winners for the week and achievements from both inside and outside school with the pupils.
Monday's Worship
During Monday's Worship, we found out about a book called 'Veronika's Treasure'. The book was written by a mother about her daughter's experience of joining a new school after leaving Ukraine and moving to the Isle off Man. We looked at Ukraine and the Isle of Man on a map and considered what we noticed about the two places. Something that was very obvious was the size difference of the two places and how much smaller the Isle of Man is than Ukraine. We focused on some key questions:
- How might Veronika and her mother have felt when they first moved to the Isle of Man?
- How would they have felt when people were kind, welcoming and friendly towards their family? Why?
- How can stories help us to understand others?
Then we reflected on the message in Mark 12:31: "The second is this: Love your neighbour. There is no commandment greater than these." We thought about how this could help us when we meet new people and what we are being called to do.
Thursday's Worship
This week, while KS2 were busy at Sports Day, we sang some of the favourite worship songs of our youngest children:

Friday's Worship
During Friday's worship, we prepared for the leavers' celebrations next week. We shared the Sports Day scores and announced the team point winners for the half-term - Diamonds who will have their treat on Monday when they can wear their own clothes to school.
