Worship Round Up
Friday 15th May 2026
Our weekly round-up aims to support our parents in the conversations that they are having at home with their children. Each week, we will share the themes of each of our worships and any resources that we have been using, such as: videos, books and music, to allow our parents to access these if they wish to. Our weekly worship is structured in the following way:
-
Mondays: Values worship led by Mrs Evans where each week we focus on a different school value (Commitment; Courage; Love) as a theme linking these to bible stories, quotes and our positive learning behaviours.
-
Tuesdays: These worships are led by Reverend Jen Houghton and will focus on the theme of ‘What God is like and what God’s kingdom is like’.
-
Wednesdays: These worships are led by Mrs Griffin and respond to world events and days of significance in order that we are recognising God’s presence and power in our world today.
-
Thursdays: Singing Assembly led by Mrs Walker.
-
Fridays: Celebration Worship led by class teachers. Children are rewarded for upholding our school values during the week, class and team winners are announced and a thought or reflection for the week is shared.
Monday's Worship

This week, we marked Mental Health Awareness Week by exploring how to look after our minds and support those around us. We discussed simple daily habits that keep us mentally healthy, such as reading a good book, drinking plenty of water, getting enough sleep, and enjoying our favourite toys. We also learned the power of noticing things and sharing kind words to make others feel good. By linking these acts of kindness to the idea of filling buckets, we reflected on how easy it is to make someone else feel happy while filling our own buckets at the same time.
Tuesday's Worship
On Tuesday, Jen continued her series of worships where we consider the different roles that God plays in our lives (like father, strong tower or the strong/ almighty). This time, we looked at the idea of God being the one that sees us for who we are and the one who values us. We thought about the story of Hagar and Ishmael who had to leave and travel the harsh environment of the desert. God saw and heard Hagar's worries and he responded by providing water and guidance for them. We reflected on how we can all, at times, feel lonely or like we've made an error. We thought about how this was more common than we thought and that everyone has times where they do not feel seen but God is always there for us and listens to us carefully and lovingly. We finished in prayer and reflected on how God's love is unconditional and sees us and values us for who we are.
Wednesday's Worship
In worship on Wednesday we were focused on Mental Health Awareness Week, taking time to reflect on how we can care for ourselves and each other. Small actions—listening, checking in, offering kindness—help us take action and continue to fill each other’s buckets in meaningful ways. Together, we make our community stronger. We ended by asking God to help us think of others.
Thursday's Worship
This week, we began our singing worship with 'My Jesus, my Saviour'. We then rehearsed 'Let it Be' by the Beatles, which many of our keen singers will be performing together at the Summer Fair on Saturday. We sang 'Seek Ye First' in two parts which sounded beautiful. We concluded our worship with prayers and a joyful rendition of 'Praise'.

Friday's Worship

In Friday's worship, we celebrated the team points winners for the week: Sapphires and Year 6. We also gave out our hot chocolate awards. Worship was a little different this week as it was lead by two children from Year 5, talking about the E-Waste Race. They had created a presentation to explain what e-waste was and how collecting and recycling it can benefit the community through helping people in need and recycling valuable materials. We also talked about how we can sort our waste to help Year 5 in the e-waste race against other schools in the local area.
