Worship Round Up
Friday 14th November 2025
Our weekly round-up aims to support our parents in the conversations that they are having at home with their children. Each week, we will share the themes of each of our worships and any resources that we have been using, such as: videos, books and music, to allow our parents to access these if they wish to. Our weekly worship is structured in the following way:
-
Mondays: Values worship led by Mrs Evans where each week we focus on a different school value (Commitment; Courage; Love) as a theme linking these to bible stories, quotes and our positive learning behaviours.
-
Tuesdays: Themed worships led by class teachers. The theme for this term is: ‘Ordinary Kids with Extraordinary Stories’ using the book ‘Rise Up’. Worship will focus on ‘Resilience and the message of Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ because he gives me strength.”
-
Wednesdays: These worships are led by Mrs Griffin and respond to world events and days of significance in order that we are recognising God’s presence and power in our world today.
-
Thursdays: Singing Assembly led by Mrs Walker.
-
Fridays: Celebration Worship led by Mrs Evans. Children are rewarded for upholding our school values during the week, class and team winners are announced and a thought or reflection for the week is shared.
Monday's Worship

In worship on Monday, we heard about the 2025 United Nations Climate Change Conference, known as COP30, which will be held in Brazil this month. At the meeting country leaders and experts will discuss how to protect our planet with a focus on saving forests. After the meetings, countries will have to share how they will keep their climate promises and stay on track to meet their goals. We watched this Newsround video to hear a bit more: COP30 Report. We then considered these questions:
•Is there a special place in nature you like to visit? Why do you like it so much?
• What would you like to stay the same about our world for people to enjoy?
• Is there something that you would like to see being better in 50 years?
We reflected on the message from God that humans should look after the world and considered what we can each do to protect it.
Tuesday's Worship
On Tuesday, we reflected on the importance of 'Remembrance' and how it is relevant today more than ever.
Remembrance is a time when we pause and think about those who have come before us—our loved ones, heroes, and those who have contributed to our communities and our world.
Each year, we set aside specific days to remember, such as Remembrance Day, when we honour those who fought for our freedom. But remembrance isn’t just about remembering great events; it is also about cherishing the memories of everyday people who have impacted our lives. In our Christian values, remembrance is deeply rooted in love and gratitude. The Bible teaches us to honour those who serve others and to show compassion for those who have sacrificed so much.
As we remembered our friends, family, and those who have made sacrifices, we can also reflect on how we can live this love in our lives. Whether it’s helping a friend in need or being kind to others, each small act can make a significant difference.
Wednesday's Worship
On Wednesday the Faith Reps led a warm and thoughtful collective worship to welcome our new vicar, Rev. Jen. It was a lovely opportunity for the whole school community to come together, meet Jen, and share what makes our school special. We joined in prayer for her as she begins her new role, celebrating the chance to build connections and look forward to the journey ahead.
Thursday's Worship
This week, we learned the traditional carol, Once in Royal David's City. We discussed the verse:
For He is our childhood’s pattern;
Day by day, like us He grew;
He was little, weak and helpless,
Tears and smiles like us He knew;
And He feels for all our sadness,
And He shares in all our gladness
This reminds us that Jesus shared the human qualities and feelings that we have, and that he knows, and is with us, today when we are sad and when we are happy.

Friday's Worship
In Friday's worship, we celebrated the team points winners for the week: Sapphires and Year 3. We gave out our hot chocolate awards, celebrated achievements from outside school and looked at the latest entries to the Good News book! We then reflected back on the messages from Monday's worship and considered what we have done this week to protect our world? We considered if we have:
- Recycled something
- Travelled to school by foot or public transport
- Turned off lights when we don't need them
- Picked up litter that we have seen in the playground or local area
We worked with our talk partners to identify and share some of these things and finally considered the importance of working hard to protect our world for the future.
