Worship Round Up
Friday 13th December 2024
Our weekly round-up aims to support our parents in the conversations that they are having at home with their children. Each week, we will share the themes of each of our worships and any resources that we have been using, such as: videos, books and music, to allow our parents to access these if they wish to. Our weekly worship is structured in the following way:
- Monday Worship Focus: Values Focus led by Mrs Evans who revisits one of our core values — Commitment, Courage and Love.
- Tuesday Worship Focus: ‘Earth Heroes’ led by class teachers;
- Wednesday Worship Focus: ‘What’s happening in the world this week?’ led by Mrs Griffin and focusing on key events that are taking place in the world currently;
- Thursday Worship Focus: Singing led by Mrs Walker;
- Friday Worship Focus: Celebration led by a member of the senior leadership team to celebrate the team points winners for the week and achievements from both inside and outside school with the pupils.
Monday's and Tuesday's Worship
On Monday and Tuesday, we had the fantastic Nativity performances. In these performances, we were able to celebrate the story of Jesus' Birth and even reflect on what this time help us with - including appreciating the true gift of Christmas. Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 were shining stars demonstrating our values of courage, commitment and love.
Wednesday's Worship
On Wednesday, we spoke about our third advent candle - Joy. We thought about the meaning of joy and how we find joy in our lives. We spoke about how joy makes a difference for us ; we spoke about joy being infectious and how it helps us to connect and appreciate each other. We spoke about how we can find joy in every day things to help us to be grateful. We reflected on the joy felt by all those present at Jesus' birth and how we still feel this joy today.
Thursday's Worship
In singing worship, KS2 and KS1 & Reception divided in order to practise the songs for our Christmas concert and production.
KS2 are singing:

Reception and KS1 are performing a nativity based around the songs from Miracle in Town and Little Donkey.

Friday's Worship
During Friday's worship, we continued to share our achievements. The team point winners for the week - Year 6 for the class winners and Diamonds for the team winners. We had such a range of celebrations today including Blue Peter badges, dance trophies, diving achievements and PE Shoutouts from Coach Ellis who recognised children who had been showing a fabulous learning attitude. We had hot chocolates to recognise role models who showed our school values of : commitment, courage and love. We then recapped our learning on growth mindset with the power of yet - we considered two things : where do we draw our strength from and how do we keep going?
