Worship Round Up
Friday 12th September 2025
Our weekly round-up aims to support our parents in the conversations that they are having at home with their children. Each week, we will share the themes of each of our worships and any resources that we have been using, such as: videos, books and music, to allow our parents to access these if they wish to. Our weekly worship is structured in the following way:
-
Mondays: Values worship led by Mrs Evans where each week we focus on a different school value (Commitment; Courage; Love) as a theme linking these to bible stories, quotes and our positive learning behaviours.
-
Tuesdays: Themed worships led by class teachers. The theme for this term is: ‘Ordinary Kids with Extraordinary Stories’ using the book ‘Rise Up’. Worship will focus on ‘Resilience and the message of Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ because he gives me strength.”
-
Wednesdays: These worships are led by Mrs Griffin and respond to world events and days of significance in order that we are recognising God’s presence and power in our world today.
-
Thursdays: Singing Assembly led by Mrs Walker.
-
Fridays: Celebration Worship led by Mrs Evans. Children are rewarded for upholding our school values during the week, class and team winners are announced and a thought or reflection for the week is shared.
Monday's Worship

In worship today we talked about 'wonders of our world. We heard about a survey completed with over 400 5 and 6 year olds who were asked to name something they consider to be a wonder of our world. Some examples given were sunflowers, diggers and puddles. We considered whether we are all amazed by the same thing and reflected on whether it is important to be amazed by things? We talked about the importance of looking for the moments of 'wonder' in our world and that these can remind us of the awesomeness of God who made it for us. We closed worship with prayers led by two of the children and by singing 'Everywhere Around Me'.
Tuesday's Worship
On Tuesday, we began to explore our new series of people who have all faced challenges and achieved wonderful feats in their life through resilience. We started worship by looking at the Bible verse from Philippians 13:4 "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me". We spoke about how we can always rely on God to support us through our challenges. Our first focus person was Laura Dekker. Laura Dekker loved sailing. She began sailing when she was very young and when she was 8 years old she decided that she wanted to be the youngest person to ever sail alone all the way around the world ; her journey was full of challenges and awe inspiring moments. We reflected on the skills she needed to develop in order to achieve her goals. We discussed that in order to achieve our goals, we need to practice key skills and show commitment. We explored how it was also important to recognise moments of growth when we are trying a challenge. We finished in prayer and reflection to ask for support and guidance to help each other in facing our challenges.
Wednesday's Worship
On Wednesday Mrs Griffin introduced our new St Paul's Attached Aware curriculum. We will be exploring a new book each term that supports us with our relationships, emotions and behaviours. This week we looked at this terms book The Invisible String. We reflected on the message that we can be connected with people that we are not always able to physically be with. We encourage you to take read of this book or watch the link below as we will be exploring this in the coming weeks in more detail. We ended worship by thanking God for our relationships; for those who love us and for those we love too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlUxXexjhYI

Thursday's Worship
This week in singing worship, we revisited some familiar songs that are about harvest time:
Let's Give Thanks for the Harvest
Conkers
Everybody Praise Him
Praise to the One
We thanked God for all of his creation, for our food and for the people who provide it
Friday's Worship
During Friday's worship, we celebrated the team points winners for this week: Diamonds and Year 3. We also gave out our first hot chocolate awards of the year! We then reflected on the idea that gratitude is a thank you with intention. We watched part of this video: 'Thank You Video' (up to 1:25) and then reflected on what we would like to say thank you for this week. Some examples were: "Thank you for my friends and the support they give me"; "Thank you for our world"; "Thank you for Jesus and the example he sets for us all"; "Thank you for the food we eat and for the ladies in our kitchen who prepare this for us". We closed worship with prayers of thanks led by Ariyan and Myla and sang 'Our God is a Great Big God'.
