Year 6 Visit Science Museum

Year 6 had a wonderful time at the Science  Museum where we watched the Antarctica 3D film at the IMAX. In this film, we discovered the many wonderful species that live on Antarctica as well as the many threats they face in the world's changing climate. Year 6 were able to see in 3D the huge whales of the Antarctic too as well as their spectacular feeding rituals as we reflected on how much carbon they helped as to absorb (up to the same as 2 amazon rainforests in one feeding). After the cinema, we had time to also explore the medicine gallery where we spotted information about penicillin  which we have been exploring in our science lessons through Alexander Flemming's accidental genius mould discovery!
