Year 6 Transition Event
Year 6 attended the transition event at the King's Centre this week. This was an exciting opportunity for Year 6 to discuss how to become more independent in their day to day life at secondary school and how to manage the mix of feelings that you may get as you approach this change. This event is a great transition tool for the children before they begin their secondary school journeys. Children had the opportunity to work on their communication skills by introducing themselves to pupils from another school and learning to ask questions that could make connections. We worked collaboratively with other schools in the community to key skills like organisations, how to communicate disagreements or even just how to maintain a conversation when you did not know much about someone. We were great role models and we were able to make use of the skills we've been practising in our transition lessons too.
