Year 5 Visit to the National Portrait Gallery

On Tuesday 7th October, Year 5 visited the National Portrait Gallery as part of our art and history topics. We took part in a workshop about portraits which taught us how to analyse the pictures to find out more about the person who has been drawn, painted or even photographed. We were encouraged to look at:
- Pose
- Expression
- Clothing
- Equipment
- Background
- Objects
We spent some time in the Tudor gallery exploring portraits of different key figures from this period of history and are looking forward to taking what we have learnt back into the classroom.
