Year 5 'School on the River' Visit
On Monday, Year 5 visited Teddington Lock for a day of hands-on learning about rivers and the local environment. The children worked in groups to complete four activities. They investigated different types of rocks and soils, exploring their properties and how they shape the landscape. They examined the water, testing its clarity and learning about the wildlife that depends on it. During their visit to the lock, they observed how it operates and why it is important for managing the flow of the Thames. Finally, they worked together to create a replica of the River Thames, modelling its features and understanding how it changes along its course. We had a fantastic time and are very grateful for this enriching experience.
