Year 3 Stone Age Workshop

On Tuesday, Year 3 had an exciting Stone Age to Iron Age workshop in the school hall. We time travelled back to the Palaeolithic period when people survived by making tools from stones, making their own fires and gathering berries and nuts to eat. We then time travelled forwards to the New Stone Age and, in groups acted out playing games with dice, fishing, building homes to live in, looking after animals and making things with wool. We travelled again in time to the Iron Age and learned how life developed even more. It was interesting to learn about how much changed during the different periods of prehistory and we were able to apply this learning in our History lesson later too.
