Year 2 Kingston Mosque Visit

On Wednesday, Year 2 went on a trip to Kingston Mosque. As Muslims must be clean to worship, we were asked to take our shoes off when we went inside. We were taught more about how Muslims pray at the Mosque and the role of the Imam, who is the person who leads prayer and teaches. A few of us acted out being the Imam. We all had the opportunity to write letters from the Arabic alphabet, dress up, look at pictures and books written in Arabic, including the Qur'an and acted out 'Wudu' which is the way Muslims wash before they pray. We learnt about different Mosques from around the world and were taught some of the Muslim beliefs about Allah and what he means to Muslims.
