Drop-off and collection

Drop off:

Reception children are to enter the school via the garden gate with their parents and be taken to the Reception classroom. Reception parents are requested to wait until all the KS1 children have entered the building at 08:50 before they leave, in order to prevent congestion.

Years 1, 2 and 3 children are to be brought to the Garden Gate (to the left of the main office) where they will be greeted by a member of staff. They are to walk through the gate and enter the building independently. Their class teachers will be waiting to greet them in the classroom. Any messages for the class teacher can be given to the member of staff on the gate.

Years 4, 5 and 6 children are to be brought to the Main Gate, where they will be greeted by a member of staff. They are to walk through the gate and enter the building, via the side door, independently. Their class teachers will be waiting to greet them in the classroom. Any messages for the class teacher can be given to the member of staff on the gate.

Any children arriving after 08:50 chould enter the school via the main office and be signed in by their parents

Collection:

At the end of the day Reception are collected from their classroom door and a handover with a member of staff will take place. Years 1 and 2 are collected from the undercover area to the left of the main office, where teachers dismiss children directly to their adult. Year 3,4, 5 and 6 are brought to the main gate (to the right of the main office) where they will be dismissed to a parent (Y5 and 6 children may walk home independently if a letter is provided by their main carer).

If you have children in both key stages we request that KS2 children are dropped off first and collected second in order to ease congestion at the Garden Gate.

Jewellery
As a general rule, jewellery should not be worn to school. Not only can it be a hazard in the playground, but also items go missing and this causes distress. A watch may be worn, but this should be of an inexpensive type. Children who have pierced ears may wear small, plain stud earrings, but these must be removed for P.E. If your child cannot remove their earring easily, it may be more appropriate if the are not worn on P.E./swimming days. If earrings cannot be removed for any reason, they must be covered with a plaster during P.E. Please do this before your child comes to school on that day. In the case of swimming the children will not be able to swim if earrings cannot be removed. Children with longer hair (shoulder length) should have their hair tied back with a simple band. Children are not permitted to have temporary tattoos or nail varnish in school.
