On Thursday 11th June we had our SIAMS. This is the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools and it takes place roughly once every 5 years. The inspection lasts for one day and it judges the school on its distinctiveness and effectiveness as a Church of England School. St. Paul’s was previously inspected in June 2010 and was graded as ‘Good’.

There are four main elements to the inspection and these are:

  • How the school, through its distinctive Christian character, meets the needs of all learners
  • The impact of collective worship on the school community
  • The effectiveness of religious education
  • The effectiveness of the leadership and management of the school as a church school

During the day, the inspector observed lessons; met with leaders, pupils, staff, governors and parents; attended collective worship; analysed data and studied work in books. Thank you to all who were involved.

We are absolutely delighted to announce that the school has been graded as ‘Outstanding’ and will be attaching the full report to our website once we have an electronic copy. This is a continuing journey for St. Paul’s and we are now looking at our next steps in order to provide the best possible education and learning experiences for all pupils at our school.
